About Me
Why Blog?
I can't put my finger on what it is that compels me to share my journey through my days. Maybe because I'm everywoman - a working mom and wife, affected by the economy, struggling to make ends meet and to enjoy the ride. I think I represent a pretty standard 30-something year old woman in this day and age, often feeling like life is taking me by the horns instead of the other way around, and wishing I could find a way into the calm eye of the storm instead.
I decided to blog because on this journey I've drifted away from any organized religion, which is where a lot of us glean our "meaning of life" answers from. I can't help but wish I still had some kind of community of like minded "seekers," as Elizabeth Lesser calls us. What do you do when your toddler has been screaming all day and testing your last reserves of serenity? How did you handle a major life transition? I often feel like I'm going it alone, and I want to hear the stories, advice, and experiences of other spiritual seekers, other folks who are looking at the screaming toddler as a teachable moment - for Mom.
My posts are simply a touch-off for your comments, the really important part of the blog. So please, I welcome and relish all comments, thoughts, stories, advice, experiences, questions, creations. Please be generous and compassionate to one another's comments, valuing the idea that we are all each in our own phase and leg of the journey, which isn't linear.
Thank you for taking your precious time and spending it here. I hope it contributes to YOUR marrow and meaning.
Peace,
JJ
